I should start out the blog portion of this site with something, Its not good to leave it blank. 

My name is Alan Baker and I am a currently unemployed Software Engineer in Santa Barbara, CA.  I went to school at UCSB and from there went to work at Cogi, and had a great time there.  I learned a lot and I worked with many great people but unfortunately like so many other companies in this economy Cogi had to let several of us go because of financial difficulties.  I hope the best for them and that they pull through.  For now I am looking for any new and exciting opportunities in the area.

I'm going to be using this blog to post cool things I am working on, companies I am talking with, as well as things I am doing with my extra time.
